Michael Jackson vs Elvis Presley

There have been talks of comparing Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley as the “greatest” performer or entertainer that had lived. The two superstar’s deaths had many similarities. The both of them lived very special lives and never without fans and media whenever they are in the public. Among some of the similarities between the two is : both had superb voice and fancy footwork; both of them had been imitated by many look-alikes and both have their own signature poses; and finally, both of these superstars had their own distinctive hairstyles. Whether he is actually better than Elvis is another controversial issue. Personally, I don’t think they can be compared in that sense – first of all, both had lived in different eras and performed distinctively different kinds of music. I would say that they are both great in their own way. However, they are both superstars in their own way. Elvis was the King Of Rock N’ Roll and the best of his era and Michael, the King of Pop and arguably the best of his generation. With Michael’s death, the two will be compared even more.

Will We Ever See Another Michael?

This is a very difficult question to answer. For one, Michael is and will always be a class of his own. Personally, I don’t think any other celebrity will be able to replace him. Even if there are any celebrities who can sing and dance the way he does, it is his overall personality that makes him unique. He has changed the world in his own ways..contributed huge sums to world charities and organizations as well as tried to end world hunger (at least he tried to make that change…)

Frankly speaking, I don’t even know where to begin! The list is just too long…After all, he is the number one celebrity contributor to charity organizations according to The Guinness Book Of World Records. Among his contributions was to work with sick children (among his personal favorite), AIDS organizations, homelessness, poverty and hunger. He spent a great deal of his money and even time to help those who are deprived of basic necessities. Indeed, his contribution in the field of humanitarian cannot be denied. He was one man that tried to make the world a better place and he started with the Man in the mirror.

Michael’s Work With Ronald Regan

Ex-president Ronald Regan had presented Michael with the Presidential Public Safety Communication Award in 1984 for his role in contributing to charities and organizations of those that was involved in eradicating alcohol and drug abuse. However, as ironic as it may sound, it is due to drug abuse that ultimately led to his death. Very sad and tragic indeed. R.I.P Michael…We will always remember you! NASA’s Kepler mission successfully launched

NASA launched its new space telescope called Kepler on March 6th 2009 and will attempt to bring the human race a step closer to the eternal question – are we alone?

It is an historical project as we can be able to get new perspectives on human life itself.

Some fundamental questions will be attacked in this mission that has been part of human quest for a long time, ever since the humans began to look up into the sky and see the world of stars above our heads.

Measuring extreme low changes in strength of light, will enable the telescope to find habitats similar to our earth in space.

Researchers believe strongly that there are billions of planets like ours within our own Milky way system. Some of these may have the potential of life.

Kepler telescope will look for earth like planets in a distance from the sun, similar to the distance earth has. In this zone of interest there will be potential for water, which again will give raise to potential of sustainable life as we know it. The larger amount of planets similar to ours, the larger chance there is for finding life forms.

Kepler is looking out for small objects in a distance of over three thousand light years, which is really hard to grasp for human mind. It is a large distance, and the objects we are looking for, are very small. Kepler has the ability to detect these small objects at these distances due to its high sensitivity of the equipment onboard.

On of the researchers on the Kepler team, William Borucki, said they will not be able to find E.T himself, but maybe find his home. Maybe in the future it will be possible to establish whether these objects have life on them, and observe its activities. However, at the moment, we do not have the technology to determine this.

As long as we receive light from these planets, we will be able to analyze and observe chemical substances and look for signatures of life.

The first exo planet in orbit around another star was discovered first time in 1995 and there has been found another 342 new ones since then. However, most of these giant planets are made of only gas, like our own Jupiter and Saturn, and they are extremely hot. None of these are believed to be like our planet. These objects are different from our earth planet, and can not have life as we know about from our knowledge at this moment. These objects are very close to their star, and are probably being fried by their sun.

Technology has not enabled us so far to detect other objects than these 341 ones, and its not s sign of that there are not objects like our earth present in these regions.

The question everybody has asked themselves through history of science is if our solar system is unique and out of the ordinary or it is quite normal out in deeper space what we have in our solar system. Kepler telescope is a space based system that will enable us to tell us more about this, as terrestrial based systems are to prone to noise and signal dampening to be able to detect things Kepler telescope will be able to.

Kepler telescope will be able to continuously observe more than 100.000 stars that are up to three thousand light years away from us in the Cygnus Lyra region of the Milky way system.

The telescope will be in earth orbit for over three years before the researchers can determine whether we have detected a similar object as the photo (Pale blue dot) from the astronomer Carl Saga showed the world of earth from a satellite far away from earth (farthest away ever taken of earth).

If Kepler telescope does not detect anything, it will establish theories about our place in the universe, which will remodel some theories existing today. Researchers’ states they would be surprised if they do not find anything with Kepler.

He has a background as civil engineer and geoscientist. He has worked mainly within the oil and gas industry from the mid 1980s. He has written a few fictional novels as well as being the author of some professional litterature within oil and gas sector, he is now an editor of some web sites.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist and entertainer. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he debuted on the professional music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the “King of Pop” in subsequent years, his 1982 Thriller is the world’s best-selling record of all time and four other solo studio albums are also among the world’s best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as “Beat It”, “Billie Jean” and Thriller–credited for transforming the music video into an art form and a promotional tool–helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as “Black or White” and “Scream” made Jackson an enduring staple on MTV in the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced many hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists.

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records–including one for “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time”–13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career–more than any other male artist in the Hot 100 era. Michael Jackson was fascinated by celebrity tragedy. He had a statue of Marilyn Monroe in his home and studied the sad Hollywood exile of Charlie Chaplin. He married the daughter of Elvis Presley.

Jackson met his own untimely death Thursday at age 50, and more than any of those past icons, he left a complicated legacy. As a child star, he was so talented he seemed lit from within; as a middle-aged man, he was viewed as something akin to a visiting alien who, like Tinkerbell, would cease to exist if the applause ever stopped.

It was impossible in the early 1980s to imagine the surreal final chapters of Jackson’s life. In that decade, he became the world’s most popular entertainer thanks to a series of hit records — “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” “Thriller” — and dazzling music videos. Perhaps the best dancer of his generation, he created his own iconography: the single shiny glove, the Moonwalk, the signature red jacket and the Neverland Ranch.

In recent years, he inspired fascination for reasons that had nothing to do with music. Years of plastic surgery had made his face a bizarre landscape. He was deeply in debt and had lost his way as a musician. He had not toured since 1997 or released new songs since 2001. Instead of music videos, the images of Jackson beamed around the world were tabloid reports about his strange personal behavior, including allegations of child molestation, or the latest failed relaunch of his career.

A frail-looking Jackson had spent his last weeks in rehearsal for an ambitious comeback attempt and 50 already-sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena. A major motivation was the $300 million in debt run up by a star who lived like royalty even though his self-declared title of King of Pop was more about the past than the present.

“It’s one of the greatest losses,” said Tommy Mottola, former president of Sony Music, which released Jackson’s music for 16 years. “In pop history, there’s a triumvirate of pop icons: Sinatra, Elvis and Michael, that define the whole culture. . . . His music bridged races and ages and absolutely defined the video age. Nothing that came before him or that has come after him will ever be as big as he was.”

Jackson “had it all. . . . talent, grace, professionalism and dedication,” said Quincy Jones, Jackson’s collaborator on his most important albums and the movie “The Wiz.” “He was the consummate entertainer, and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.”

Jackson was born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary, Ind. His mother, Katherine, would say that there was something special about the fifth of her nine children. “I don’t believe in reincarnation,” she said, “but you know how babies move uncoordinated? He never moved that way. When he danced, it was like he was an older person.”

Katherine Jackson, who worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co., taught her children folk songs. Her husband, Joseph, a crane operator who once played with the R&B band the Falcons, played guitar and coached his sons. The boys were soon performing at local benefits. Michael took command of the group even as a chubby-cheeked kindergartner.

“He was so energetic that at 5 years old he was like a leader,” brother Jackie once told Rolling Stone magazine. “We saw that. So we said, ‘Hey, Michael, you be the lead guy.’ The audience ate it up.”

By 1968, the Jacksons had cut singles for a local Indiana label called Steeltown. At an engagement that year at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater, singer Gladys Knight and pianist Billy Taylor saw their act and recommended them to Motown founder Berry Gordy. So did Diana Ross after sharing a stage with the quintet at a “Soul Weekend” in Gary.

Ross said later that she saw herself in the talented and driven Michael. “He could be my son,” she said. Another Motown legend, Smokey Robinson, would describe the young performer as “a strange and lovely child, an old soul in the body of a boy.”

Motown moved the Jacksons to California, and in August 1968 they gave a breakthrough performance at a Beverly Hills club called The Daisy. Their first album, “Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5,” was released in December 1969, and it yielded the No. 1 hit “I Want You Back,” with 11-year-old Michael on the lead vocals. “ABC,” “I’ll Be There” and other hits followed, and the group soon had their own television series, a Saturday morning cartoon and an array of licensed merchandise aimed at youngsters.

There was a price: childhood.

“I never had the chance to do the fun things kids do,” Jackson once explained. “There was no Christmas, no holiday celebrating. So now you try to compensate for some of that loss.”

Joseph Jackson ruled the family, by most accounts, with his fists and a bellowing rage. In a 2003 documentary by British journalist Martin Bashir, Jackson said his father often brandished a belt during rehearsals and hit his sons or shoved them into walls if they made a misstep.

“We were terrified of him,” Jackson said.

In the Bashir interviews, the singer said his father ridiculed him for his pug nose and adolescent acne. He also described, with obvious discomfort, having to listen to an older brother have sex with a woman in the hotel bedroom they shared.

The rumor has it that the Nobel Peace Prize will finally come into play to end the Democratic bid of Hillary Clinton. Say what? Enough is enough. Both Obama and Hillary have their flaws- and they aren’t little ones either. Of course we all do you know. That’s why we are called HUMANS! Well, that’s part of the reason. We all too well know a lot of the reasons for our zits.

The reason that the Nobel Peace Prize will play such a huge role in making Obama the Democratic nominee is that it has given that prize to two very influential Democratic party elders. Can you say Al Gore and Jimmy Carter?

Former president Carter and former vice-president Gore have already held high-level discussions about delivering the message that she must stand down for the good of the Democrats. “They’re in discussions,” a source close to Carter told Scotland on Sunday. “Carter has been talking to Gore. They will act, possibly together, or in sequence.”

The Clinton meltdown is about to come to it’s in-glorious end.

Thus, Jimmy Carter and Al Gore are being lined-up to deliver the coup de grâce to Hillary Clinton and end her campaign to become president. Falling poll numbers and a string of high-profile blunders have convinced party elders that she must now bow out of the primary race. Bessides, hasn’t everyone had enough of the Bush-Clinton scenarios? Let Bubba and his tarnished star fade into the darkened skies while Hillary tries to grapple with just being a Senator from New York.

If there must be a Clinton drama, let’s make it about if they’ll stay together after she loses the nomination. How would they divide up their tens of millions in income? No, they need each other in so many unusual ways! If Hillary isn’t going to be president in 2008 will Bill tire of trying to keep his personal escapades so private and get on with who he really is, or will there be hopes for maybe Hillary in 2012?

U.S. President Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize. He earned prestigious award with his efforts for peace in the world and with the hope that he gives people.

Obama became in the beginning of this year the first black U.S. president, and since then he is repeatedly calling for a reduction of nuclear arsenals around the world. Also thanks to the efforts for nuclear disarmament as well as the revival of stalled attempts to Middle East peace process between Israelis and Palestinians, he has become this year’s Nobel Prize Winner for Peace.

Committee for the Nobel Prize wrote that Obama has proved with his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people. Only few people on the world can catch the attention of the world and give people hope for a better future. He is one of them”, they declared in a statement.

“His diplomacy is based on the premise that those who run the world, should work in accordance with the values and attitudes held by the majority of the population in the world,” it is said in the grounds of the prize.

The number of unemployed persons increased by 851,000 in February 2009. That brings the number of unemployed people in the United to states to 12.5 million. Over the past 12 months, the number of unemployed persons has increased by about 5.0 million.

When you read these numbers it is easy to let the numbers roll off your tongue without much thought. When you really sit and think about the numbers, and the people who ARE those numbers, then it becomes a reality.

Losing their job and struggling to pay the bills has become a reality for millions of Americans. They tell us the economy is improving, yet more companies are laying off workers every day.

I am writing this article in hopes that you can help me in giving a voice to millions of Americans. I have started an online clothing company called I LOST MY JOB CLOTHING. There are two main goals of the company. To give back to the people who need it most and to give Americans a voice by wearing the shirts and allowing them to share their stories.

November Unemployment Statistics to Highlight Economic Reports This Week

This week’s economic reports will be highlighted by Friday’s unemployment report, which analysts expect will illustrate the 11th straight month of declining job ranks in the U.S. economy.

Non-farm payroll employment fell by 240,000 in October, and the unemployment rate jumped to 6.5%, up from 6.1% the month before, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in early November.

October’s drop in payroll employment followed declines of 127,000 in August and 284,000 in September, according to revised BLS reports. Employment has fallen by 1.2 million in the first 10 months of 2008, with more than half of that decrease occurring in August, September and October. In October, job losses continued in manufacturing, construction and several service-providing industries. Conversely, the healthcare and mining sectors saw their job ranks grow.

And it’s going to get much worse before it gets better, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) has predicted. Goldman Sachs says the U.S. unemployment rate will spike to 9.0% by the fourth quarter of 2009, as corporate profits plunge an estimated 25% – and that’s after an estimated decline in profits of about 10% this year, Goldman analysts say. The U.S. economy – as measured by gross domestic product (GDP) – will decline by 5.0% in the current quarter, followed by declines of 3.0% in the first quarter of 2009 and 1.0% in the second quarter, Goldman analysts predict.

Those numbers are worse than Goldman originally predicted, and create an outlook similar to Money Morning’sprojections, which called for a credit-crisis-nurtured economic downturn that could last as long as 12-18 months.

The NBER yesterday (Monday) formally announced that the U.S. economy peaked and entered into a recession in December 2007. The U.S. Commerce Department estimated that the U.S. economy, as measured by GDP, rose 0.9% in the first quarter. In the second quarter, GDP advanced an estimated 2.8%. For the third quarter, GDP declined an estimated 0.3%.

Also this week, the U.S. Federal Reserve’s “We have marked down our forecasts for US real GDP in response to continuing signs of falling domestic and foreign demand, labor market deterioration, renewed tightening in financial conditions, and an apparent impasse in fiscal policy pending the transfer of power to the Obama administration in late January. As a result, we expect the unemployment rate to reach 9% by the fourth quarter of 2009, profits to fall 25% for 2009 as a whole following an estimated 10% drop this year, and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) to use nontraditional policy tools more aggressively, as detailed below – Beige Book – due out tomorrow (Wednesday) – offers a look into activity within the various regions of the country.

Number One was released worldwide on November 17, 2003 by Sony Music.

In 1995 Michael released History – Past, Present and Future, Book I, a 2 disc set featuring one disc of greatest hits and the 2nd comprising new material. The album was received with mixed feelings as many of his fans were attempting to find an exclusive greatest hits set. In 2003 Sony hit the market with Number Ones.

This album offers 15 hit singles. 14 of them were Billboard Hot a hundred Top ten hits.

Three songs are from Off the Wall, five from Thriller, four from Bad and 3 from Dangerous.

Number Ones also included singles from the second disc of History, plus the title track from Blood on the Dance Floor and “You Rock My World”, the hit single from Invincible.

Two bonus tracks were also included – “Break of Dawn” and “One More Chance”, Michael Jackson’s last hit single.

In November 2005, Number Ones was authorized Platinum ! According to Nielsen Soundscan the album sold an extra 227,000 copies through to April 2007. The album has sold more than 6,000,000 copies worldwide.

In June 26 , 2009 , the King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away. On June 29 it has been reported that there was an 80-fold increase in requirement the Michael’s Number Ones album and it has shot from 121 to number one in the UK.

Number Ones sold 108,000 units in the chart week ending July first 2009.

Robert Joe Halderman, a producer of CBS’s “48 Hours,” was arrested Thursday for an alleged extortion plot to expose David Letterman’s multiple affairs with women on his staff. (View photo of Halderman below)

The scandal was revealed Thursday night, when Letterman told his studio audience he was being blackmailed for $2 million by someone who threatened to expose his sexual relationships with female employees.

The Late Show host contacted the Manhattan District Attorney’s Special Prosecution Bureau, and was told to cut a phony check to the alleged extortionist.

According to to sources, Halderman, 51, lived with one of the women Letterman was involved with. Halderman needed money, and decided to target the talk show host.

The affair happened before Letterman’s son was born, although he was living with longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko, whom he married in March.

Barack Obama’s Connections to Socialism, Communism and Racial Divisiveness

There’s no need for a long introduction…this article will “speak” for itself. The following is a list of Barack Obama’s connections to socialism, communism, Marxism, racial divisiveness, and political corruption. If you can ignore this and still support the man who refuses to disclose much of his past, then you should not be voting in November.

The Early Mentors and Influences

Barack Hussein Obama Sr. – Barack’s father was an African socialist. While he was not with his son for much of Barack Jr.’s childhood, they did keep in touch through routine correspondence according to the memoir, Dreams From My Father.

Stanley Ann Dunham – Barack’s mother was a 60’s liberal feminist and an atheist – all the makings of a rebellious, 60’s-era, left-wing radical. There is little written about Barack’s mother and her political views, but from what is known, she was certainly on the left of the political spectrum.

Frank Marshall Davis – “Frank,” as Barack Obama refers to him in his book, Dreams From My Father, was a member of the Communist Party (USA). He was also a former community organizer in Chicago. As a youth, Barack was treated to many of Davis’ rants about white supremacy, white Christianity, and undoubtedly was aware of Davis’ pro-Soviet writings. In his memoir, Barack merely says he was “intrigued” by Davis.

Saul Alinsky – Mr. Alinsky was an avid and open socialist and the king of social activism, commonly called the “father of community organizing.” He created many organizations that relied on street agitation tactics, such as the Industrial Areas Foundation, which trained Obama in organizing tactics. He wrote the book, Rules for Radicals, which outlined many of the tactics used today in community organizing campaigns. Barack Obama worked with the Developing Communities Project and the Gamaliel Foundation – both inspired by Saul Alinsky’s tactics and socialist philosophy. Barack even wrote a chapter on community organizing in the book, After Alinsky. Saul Alinsky’s son, Lee David Alinsky, recently praised Obama on his ability to perform Saul’s tactics, saying that Barack “learned his lesson well.”

John L. McKnight – Referred to as Obama’s “community organizer mentor,” McKnight taught Barack about community organizing while they were both working with the Gamaliel Foundation – a Saul Alinsky production. John McKnight is also a former ACLU director and sits on the board of the National People’s Action (NPA), another leftist community organizing group. He teaches at Northwestern University and he wrote a letter of recommendation to Harvard for Obama.

Radical Faith Testimonials

Reverend Jeremiah Wright – “Uncle J” was Barack’s former pastor and mentor at Trinity United Church of Christ. The philosophy of the Church is based on the teachings of James Cone’s black liberation theology. Cone admits that his theology is a mix of “black religion and Marxist philosophy.” Wright’s fiery anti-white, anti-capitalist, and anti-United States sermons landed him in a media controversy that eventually led to Barack’s denouncement of him in the spring of 2008, after 20 years of friendship. Wright had married Barack and Michelle and had baptized their two children. The pastor has also worked with Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan, and his church’s magazine, Trumpet, has given Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award with praise coming from Wright.

The black liberation theology that is practiced at Trinity is based on James Cone’s version of the religion. He has stated that Trinity represents the most accurate interpretation of his theology. Among the ideas expressed by Cone is the notion that “black religion and Marxist philosophy may show us the way to build a completely new society.” He also believes that “to be black is to be committed to destroying everything this country loves and adores.” Recently, reports have stated that Cone believes nothing Barack Obama has said or written in his books and speeches contradicts Cone’s black liberation theology. Obama has simply blunted the more “radical edge.” On the other hand, Reverend Wright seems to have a firm grasp on what his theology represents – and he was able to influence Barack Obama with it for 20 years.

Father Michael Pfleger – This seemingly out-of-place white priest with a predominantly black congregation in South Chicago has had a relationship with Obama for nearly 20 years as well. He has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in earmarks and foundation grants from Obama and has contributed to Barack’s multiple political campaigns. He had appeared on Barack’s campaign website under the “Faith” category, but he has since been removed. Much like Wright, Father Pfleger spews fiery racial sermons and gives his support and admiration to Louis Farrakhan. According to Wright’s Trumpet magazine, Pfleger also claims he “got very educated by the [Black] Panthers – very educated.”

Domestic Terrorism and Social “Reform”

William Ayers – Mr. Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist and an anti-capitalist. He was a leader of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in the 1960’s and one of the militant spin-offs, the terrorist Weather Underground organization. These organizations were comprised of communist (”small ‘c’”) and anti-capitalist radicals. Part of Ayers’ Weather Underground strategy was to align with black revolutionary organizations like the Black Panther Party because among other things, they felt “white America” exploited black people and they were taken to the military-like discipline exhibited by those groups. Their activities included bombing police stations, the Capitol Building, and the Pentagon. In recent years, Ayers has publicly stated that he is not sorry for what he did and wishes that he had done more. He has been photographed stomping on the American flag and says the idea that the United States is a fair and just nation “makes me want to puke.” He has also given speeches in Venezuela praising the efforts in education that the Hugo Chavez regime has been making…efforts that he has been trying to implement in the Chicago school system for decades.

Bill Ayers served for six years on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) with Barack Obama. Both men headed up separate branches of the CAC that worked together on project funding. He also served on the board of the Woods Fund with Obama for three years. In 1995, Ayers hosted the event at his house which would become the kick-start to Obama’s political career. In that “meet-and-greet,” Alice Palmer handed over her Illinois State Senate reins to Barack (more on that later). Ayers wrote a book on the juvenile justice system which Barack endorsed warmly, then the two were on a panel set up by Michelle Obama to discuss the merits of the book and current (at the time) legislation on the subject – which both Ayers and Obama opposed, as well as Bernardine Dohrn. Barack also taught classes at the University of Illinois-Chicago, where Ayers is a faculty member. In 2002, the Black Radical Congress (BRC) hosted a panel discussion at the University of Illinois-Chicago called “Intellectuals in Times of Crisis.” Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, and three endorsers of the BRC were on this panel. Contrary to the protestations by the Obama campaign, Bill Ayers is more than “just a guy” who lives in Barack’s neighborhood.

Bernardine Dohrn – She is the wife of Bill Ayers and a former radical herself. Dohrn was the leader of the Revolutionary Youth Movement of the SDS and the Weather Underground. She was also a signatory of the Weather Underground’s “Declaration of War” against the United States. She was a communist (Marxist-Leninist) and is a convicted criminal for her actions in the violent radical groups she was involved with throughout the 60’s and 70’s, particularly the aforementioned bombings. Dohrn later obtained a position at Sidley & Austin, the law firm where Michelle Obama worked. Dohrn’s father-in-law, Tom Ayers, owned a company which had received long-time outside counsel from Sidley. She obtained her position at Sidley & Austin through Howard Trienens, a senior partner. Trienens, Tom Ayers, and Sidley partner Newton Minow, all served on the board of trustees at Northwestern University. Dohrn is now an adjunct professor at Northwestern.

Mike Klonsky – He was a Maoist, a former SDS national chairman (1968), and formed the “October League” when the SDS broke into several factions. The October League later became the Beijing-recognized U.S. Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), of which Klonsky became a leader in the 70’s, traveling to China and praising the Maoist leadership. He took over the Small Schools Workshop which was created by Ayers, when Ayers headed up the CAC in 1995. The CAC, with Barack as one of its chairs, continued to fund the Workshop throughout the CAC’s existence. Klonsky was also an official blogger for the Obama presidential campaign website in 2008.

Marilyn Katz – She oversaw security for the SDS, where she met Ayers. She was part of the Committee of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, which organized the 2002 anti-war speech in Chicago where Barack Obama famously spoke out against the Iraq War. Katz is a signatory of the Progressives for Obama website and the founder of Chicagoans Against War on Iraq. She also happens to have played poker games with Judson Miner, the liberal lawyer who hired Obama upon his return to Chicago after graduating Harvard Law School. Obama met Katz through the Miner Barnhill & Galland law firm. Miner was also a law school classmate of Bernardine Dohrn at the University of Chicago in the 60’s. Katz has held fundraisers for Obama in her home and is a media advisor for the Obama presidential campaign.

Carl Davidson – He was a former leader of the SDS and a Maoist, like Klonsky. He was also one of the organizers for the 2002 anti-war speech. Davidson is the webmaster for the website, Progressives for Obama, which posts blogs from other 60’s radicals like Tom Hayden and Bill Fletcher, who created the website and its agenda.

Bill Fletcher – As mentioned, he was a 60’s radical (a Maoist) and is one of the creators of the Progressives for Obama website. While there is no evidence of a direct connection to the Obama campaign, he has endorsed the call of the Black Radical Congress along with Obama advisor Cornel West and has connections to others that are directly involved with Obama and his campaign.

Incestuous Relationships and Friendly Donations

Woods Fund – In 1993, Barack Obama became a board member with the Woods Fund. A man named Ken Rolling was a program officer with the fund at the time. During the late 80’s the Woods Fund gave grants to the Developing Communities Project, where Obama had worked as a community organizer. At the time, the Woods Fund was supporting the Chicago Local School Councils (LSC’s) which were created from the 1988 Chicago School Reform Act. Bill Ayers was involved with establishing these LSC’s along with his brother John, who was a leader in the LSC’s and became head of the Leadership for Quality Education (LQE) in 1993. The LQE was a group formed at the time of the Reform Act and was supported by a local business lobby that wanted to use the LQE as a means to train the LSC’s. Ayers joined Obama on the board of the Woods Fund in 1999 and they worked together there until 2002.

Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) – Bill Ayers played a seminal role in the creation of the CAC. One of the main goals of the Challenge was to build on the 1988 Reform Act and the LSC’s, which he supported and in which his brother was involved. In 1995, the CAC began its operations with Barack Obama as Chairman of the Board. Bill Ayers was co-chair of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, one of three branches of the CAC – the Board being another. Ken Rolling was brought in from the Woods Fund as Executive Director. In the first year a $175,000 grant was awarded to the Small Schools Workshop which was founded by Ayers but control was turned over to fellow radical, Mike Klonsky, once Ayers began the CAC. Obama and Ayers worked together in the CAC from 1995 until its end in 2001. That year, the CAC came to an end but handed startup funds over to Penny Pritzker and the Chicago Public Education Fund (CPEF). Pritzker is now part of the fundraising operation in the Obama campaign. In 2003, the CAC’s own report admitted that the ultimate goal of the CAC – to improve academic achievement – was a failure. Regardless of the outcome, it is plain that the goals for Ayers and Obama were similar…and knowing Ayers’ past, it isn’t something that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Sidley & Austin – This is the Chicago law firm that brought in Obama as a summer associate in 1989. It’s also the firm where Michelle Obama worked and reportedly met Barack for the first time. Sidley had been outside counsel to Tom Ayers’ company, Commonwealth Edison. Howard Trienens, the partner that handled Commonwealth Edison, hired Bernardine Dohrn at Sidley. Trienens was on the board of trustees at Northwestern with Tom Ayers, Dohrn’s father-in-law, and Newton Minow, another Sidley partner.

ACORN – Obama has extensive ties to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, as do his two prominent spiritual influences, Wright and Pfleger. Obama’s Developing Communities Project and his “Project VOTE” campaign worked closely with ACORN. Both the Woods Fund and Joyce Foundation – where Obama sat on both boards – gave frequent donations to ACORN. He filed a successful lawsuit on behalf of ACORN to enforce the “motor-voter” law in Illinois. Madeleine Talbot, a former ACORN leader in Chicago, hired Obama to train her staff on organizing tactics. Talbot was arrested for a protest that broke into a Chicago City Council session in 1997. In return for training Chicago ACORN leaders in community organizing techniques, Obama received their help with his political campaigns. Obama had also joined with ACORN to try to overturn Indiana’s voter I.D. laws, but the Supreme Court rejected their complaint.

What is ACORN’s record? In St. Louis, eight local ACORN workers were indicted on charges related to voter fraud from fake information on registration forms in 2006. One of the eight pleaded guilty in March. Seven workers were indicted on felony charges in Seattle because of phony registration forms and some of the workers already had criminal records. Three workers pleaded guilty in 2007 and ACORN eventually settled the largest case of voter fraud in Washington State history, paying $25,000 in restitutions. Similar problems are being investigated in at least twelve other states. ACORN’s political action committee (PAC) has endorsed Barack Obama for president.

Notable Friends and Advisors

Linda Darling-Hammond – Currently an education advisor to the Obama presidential campaign, Darling-Hammond has some less obvious connections to the leftist agenda, so it will take a little longer to define them. She has writings and has supported the notion of an “education debt” which is said to plague minority communities. This concept is a product of another educator, Gloria Ladson-Billings. Ladson-Billings is one of the pioneers of the phrase “education debt,” which is apparently the by-product (at least in part) of a reparations agenda pushed by people like the factually-incorrect and racist, Randall Robinson and books like, The Debt: What America Owes to Blacks. In 2006, Ladson-Billings gave her Presidential Address to the leftist-tainted American Educational Research Association (AERA) in which she spoke about repaying the “education debt.” She also announced the selection of Darling-Hammond to the Association’s governing council that same week. As it turns out, Bill Ayers was recently elected as an AERA vice-president (but for some reason, he no longer appears on their website as a VP of curriculum studies.)

Darling-Hammond and Ladson-Billings also appear together in two different liberal education programs, the Forum for Education and Democracy (FED) and the Economic Policy Institute’s (EPI) “Bold Approach.” Both of these programs preach the concept of “social justice,” which seems to be code for socialist redistribution programs. And they both have more connections to Bill Ayers. Ladson-Billings has contributed writings for Ayers-edited books, she’s been a co-editor with Ayers, and wrote a forward to another of his books. Darling-Hammond, who has taken up the agenda of the two liberal programs, including the notion of the reparations-inspired “education debt,” and is a long-time member of the AERA, has also had her writings appear in an Ayers-edited book. Ayers obviously supports the liberal agenda of both of these educators, the two programs, and the AERA, as does Mike Klonsky, who is a co-signer of the “Bold Approach” agenda.

Laurence Tribe – Mr. Tribe was one of Barack’s professors/mentors at Harvard. He co-founded and is on the board of advisors of the American Constitution Society (ACS), a leftist counter to the Federalist Society. The ACS defines itself as promoting the “progressive” agenda in law. Mr. Tribe has been accused of plagiarizing in one of his books and believes animals should have legal standing to sue humans and businesses. He is on a short list of possible Supreme Court nominees if Obama wins the presidential election and is currently an advisor to his campaign.

Charles Ogletree – He is another one of Barack’s Harvard professors/mentors and an advocate for reparations for slavery, despite the fact that he believes reparations could cost the government trillions of dollars – and the fact that those trillions would come from the taxpayers, including other black people. He has also been accused of plagiarizing, like his colleague Laurence Tribe, and is currently an advisor to the Obama campaign.

Cornel West – Mr. West defines his political ideology as “non-Marxist socialist.” He is an anti-capitalist and honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America. He is a contributor/signatory to the Progressives for Obama website and has endorsed the Black Radical Congress’ (BRC) call for a “renewed struggle.” He appeared together with Reverend Jeremiah Wright on a panel called “Faith as a Weapon: Spirituality and the Role of the Church in the Radical Movement” hosted by the newly formed BRC in 1998. West was also involved in the Million Man March and has many other connections to the racist and anti-Israeli, Louis Farrakhan.

Alice Palmer – She is a former executive board member of the U.S. Peace Council (a communist front group), which is an affiliate of the World Peace Council (a Soviet front group). In 1983, she attended the World Peace Council’s Prague Assembly. Palmer wrote an article in the People’s Daily World – a CPUSA newspaper – describing how impressive the Soviet system was when she attended the 27th Congress of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union. When she decided to give up her Illinois Senate seat in an effort to win an election for U.S. Representative, she identified Barack Obama as her successor in the State Senate. She held a “meet-and-greet” at the home of Bill Ayers for Obama’s introduction into the Illinois political arena.

Antoin “Tony” Rezko – The relationship between Obama and Rezko goes back to 1990. That year, Tony Rezko offered Obama a job with his housing development business, but Obama declined. They remained friends ever since and Rezko became one of Obama’s biggest campaign contributors. Over the years, Barack has obtained millions of dollars in grants for Rezko to build inner-city housing. However, many of these properties have been plagued by financial misdeeds and problems with infrastructure and maintenance. One project for a senior-citizens complex garnered $14 million for Rezko and his business partner, Allison Davis – an Obama fundraiser and former boss at the law firm then named Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland. At the time Obama’s letter was written asking for legislative support for the project, Cottage View Terrace, Obama was a lawyer with Miner Barnhill & Galland – the same law firm but without Davis as a partner. The firm had several companies owned by Rezko and Davis as clients, but not New Kenwood LLC which was in charge of Cottage View Terrace. Tony Rezko was recently convicted of several felonies involving corruption and kickbacks to various Chicago politicians.

In June 2005, Barack Obama and Tony Rezko purchased adjacent properties on the same day and from the same owner in Chicago. Obama paid $300,000 below the asking price while Rezko paid full price. At the time, it was already known that Rezko was under investigation for criminal charges. In January of 2006, Mrs. Rezko sold a ten foot strip of property to Obama. When asked about the questionable circumstances surrounding the purchase of the two properties, Obama apologized and said his actions were “boneheaded.”

Rashid Khalidi – Mr. Khalidi is a Palestinian political activist and a professor at Columbia University. For six years in Beirut, he was the director of WAFA, the official Palestinian press agency where his wife had also worked as chief editor of the English section. Mr. Khalidi has also worked with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) during the height of its terrorist campaigns in the Middle East. While in Chicago, the Khalidi’s created the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), an anti-Israeli group, and received $75,000 in grants from the Woods Fund when Obama and Ayers were on the board. Khalidi has also held fundraisers for Obama and the Obama’s have had many dinners at the Khalidi’s home in Chicago. Khalidi also started the website Electronic Intifada – an anti-Israeli site – with Ali Abunimah, another Obama associate. Both Khalidi and Abunimah have considered Obama a friend and ally to their cause.

Robert Malley – This former “informal” foreign policy advisor to the Obama campaign resigned in May 2008 due to allegations that he was meeting with members of the terrorist organization, Hamas. Malley dismissed his meetings with these contacts as simply being part of his job. But he is also anti-Israeli with a long list of op-ed articles – some co-authored by former Yasser Arafat advisors – with a revisionist slant and intent to denounce Israeli attempts for peace and security. Not surprisingly, Malley’s father was a fervent anti-Western, “Third-Worldist” who wrote about liberation “struggle” – leftist code for anti-capitalism and pro-socialist/communist movements.

Closing Thoughts

These are not just associations. All of these connections are family members, close friends and “mentors,” and affiliations/organizations that Obama willingly participated with and in – and financially supported. If Barack doesn’t know about their past and their political ideologies, then he is oblivious to his surroundings and does not belong in the White House as the leader of our country. If he knew about these things but didn’t think they mattered, then he is beyond naïve and does not belong in the White House. If he knew about these things and openly welcomed it, then he’s just downright dangerous and does not belong on a local school board, let alone in the White House.

All of these incestuous relationships directly place Barack Obama deep inside the socialist/communist movements in Chicago. His plans and policies are radical and his associations and partners are mostly on the very far left of politics. Socialism and communism are not – and shouldn’t be – acceptable philosophies in this country, especially from a person running for president. This isn’t simply a matter of “guilt by association.” These relationships are long-lasting and ingrained into Barack’s political philosophy and ideology. There’s a reason why he will do anything and everything it takes to ignore, deny, or denounce every one of these associations once they are brought to the public’s attention.

Is this guilt by association? Not at all. These associations demonstrate a pattern of relationships with leftist radicals, criminally corrupt developers, and racially divisive activists. These relationships are not a matter of happenstance either. Barack sought out these groups from his early days. He did not grow up in Chicago – he chose to live there. His associations are a direct result of his decision-making and his chosen path to political power. He willingly participated in socialist-minded groups and worked with radicals and unrepentant criminals. He is beyond dangerous to this republic of ours and his policies are beyond destructive.

Cap and Trade Sold under False Pretenses

Obama’s health care is just misdirection — the administration doesn’t want you to focus on what’s really happening. While everyone is focused on the propaganda charges with ABC — they won’t notice that Cap & Trade has been jammed down our throats. Now, with Governor Sanford’s debacle, you can bet the White House is cheering on yet another distraction taking eyes away from Cap & Trade.

The 1,500-page cap-and-trade climate legislation, also known as Waxman-Markey, passed by a narrow margin late in the day on June 26. Members of Congress added 300 of those pages early in the morning on the day of the vote. It is safe to assume that hardly any of the 435 Members of Congress read the bill in its entirety, meaning one of the costliest bills in American history was rushed through so politicians could enjoy their 4th of July recess.

Cap and trade is nothing more than a massive energy tax, which is why its chief alternative is a carbon tax, and it has been sold under the following false pretenses:

* It will not cost anything;

* It will increase jobs;

* It will increase green investment; and

* It will save the environment.

A Lot More Than a Stamp a Day

A commonly quoted cost estimate of Waxman-Markey comes from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which claims that cap and trade will cost the equivalent of a postage stamp per day–$175 per household in 2020.[1]

But CBO admittedly ignores economic costs such as the decrease in gross domestic product (GDP) as a result of the bill[2] and the fact that consumers and business will change their behavior as a result of higher energy prices. This is a serious oversight that has significant economic consequences.

In The Heritage Foundation’s economic analysis of the Waxman-Markey climate change legislation, the GDP loss in 2020 was $161 billion (in 2009 dollars).[3] For a family of four, that translates into $1,870–more than 10 times the size of the $175 CBO claim.Furthermore, the Heritage analysis found that for all years, the average GDP loss was $393 billion, or more than double the 2020 loss. In 2035 (the last year analyzed by Heritage), the inflation-adjusted GDP loss works out to $6,790 per family of four.

Energy-intensive industries will also suffer significant losses. For instance, farming is very energy-intensive, with fuel, chemical, electricity, and fertilizer costs; since cap and trade drives up the cost of energy prices, farmers’ losses will undoubtedly outweigh any money they collect from offsets (the money businesses would pay farmers to reduce carbon emissions by either not farming or using more efficient technologies). The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Data Analysis found that farm income (or the amount left over after paying all expenses) is expected to drop $8 billion in 2012, $25 billion in 2024, and over $50 billion in 2035. These are decreases of 28 percent, 60 percent, and 94 percent, respectively. The average net income lost over the 2010-2035 timeline is $23 billion–a 57 percent decrease from the baseline.

It Is a Jobs-Destroying Bill

President Obama and Democratic House leaders claimed that Waxman-Markey is a jobs bill. With the lavish subsidies for green investment placed in the bill, surely companies will hire workers to build solar panels and windmills; however, the number of “green” jobs will pale in comparison to the number of jobs lost due to higher energy prices and slower economic growth.

The goal of cap and trade is to drive up the costs of energy in order for people to use less of it. Because just about every business uses energy to produce goods and must pay their own electricity bills, the cost of production for businesses increases, and consumer demand falls for two reasons:

1. Price hikes on goods reduce demand, and

2. People have less disposable income due to higher energy prices.

Overall, production cuts and reduced consumer spending destroy jobs and slow economic growth, which further increases unemployment.

The Heritage analysis found that over the 2012-2035 timeline, job losses average over 1.1 million. By 2035, a projected 2.5 million jobs are lost below the baseline–without a cap-and-trade bill.[4] Some jobs will be lost completely, while others will move to different countries where the cost of production is cheaper. Again, these losses are on top of “green jobs” created as a result of the bill.

Less Renewable Energy

The final House bill contained many renewable energy investments in an effort to attract votes. The Waxman-Markey proposal even requires that more electricity come from so-called renewable sources, chiefly wind energy but also others like biomass and solar. Ironically, according to an analysis of the bill by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Waxman-Markey would actually result in less renewable energy produced than without the bill because of the overall decline in electricity use.[5]

Green projects do not pay for themselves; it is the taxpayers who fund the research and development of renewable energy and the cost of the subsidies that are required to make renewables competitive. Yet renewable energy still only provides a small fraction of America’s energy needs, and it is more expensive per kilowatt hour than traditional, reliable sources of energy. Consumers lose doubly, paying more as taxpayers and as ratepayers.

It Will Not Save the Planet

The alleged benefit from cap and trade is that the regulations will reduce carbon dioxide emissions enough to slow warming and reduce global temperatures.

According to climatologist Chip Knappenberger, Waxman-Markey would moderate temperatures by only hundredths of a degree in 2050 and no more than two-tenths of a degree at the end of the century.[6] Even EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson concurred, recently saying, “I believe the central parts of the [EPA] chart are that U.S. action alone will not impact world CO2 levels.”[7]

A multilateral approach would not fare much better. In the case of international cooperation, India, China, and the rest of the developing world would have to revert to their 2000 levels of CO2 emissions by 2050. On a per-capita basis, China would backtrack to about one-tenth of what the U.S. emitted in 2000. India and most of the developing world would have to drop to even lower levels. This scenario, in addition to being highly unlikely, would de-develop the developing world.

Moving Forward

Now that the bill has passed the U.S. House of Representatives, it will likely move to the U.S. Senate this fall. It is important to remember that everything policymakers have promised this bill will do will in fact do the opposite. Cap and trade will drive up energy costs for years to come, resulting in economic pain and higher unemployment. All of these points will be equally important, if not more so, in the Senate debate.

One of the interesting things about Barack Obama is that he is appealing to the black voters of America as a black man, yet he was raised by a single mother and her parents, who were white. (Before you correct me that the politically correct term is "African-American," allow me to point out that all black people in America are not necessarily African-American.)

In a well-researched article published in Time, Amanda Ripley explains, "In most elections, the deceased mother of a candidate in the primaries is not the subject of a magazine profile. But Ann Soetoro was not like most mothers."

She points out: "Each of us lives a life of contradictory truths. We are not one thing or another. Barack Obama's mother was at least a dozen things. S. Ann Soetoro was a teen mother who later got a Ph.D. in anthropology; a white woman from the Midwest who was more comfortable in Indonesia; a natural-born mother obsessed with her work; a romantic pragmatist, if such a thing is possible."

Barack Obama's mother was a very interesting woman, and, according to Ripley, he's very much his mother's son.

Obama's mother, Stanley Ann Dunham Obama Soetoro (she later spelled it Sutoro) was a white woman from the Midwest who married and divorced not one, but two, foreign men (one from Kenya and one from Indonesia, both Muslim). She met Barack Obama Sr. in a Russian-language class at the University of Hawaii, where both were students.

After one semester, at age 18 she dropped out of school and, three months pregnant, secretly married a man she met only a few months earlier. Young Barack was born August 4, 1961.

At that time, interracial marriages were illegal in many states, and bi-racial children were ostracized by both ethnic groups as not "belonging" to either.

When the infant Barack was not yet a year old, Obama Sr. left his new family for a Harvard scholarship to get a Ph.D. in economics. His plan was to take his new family and return to rebuild Kenya. He already had a wife there, although there was some question about the legality of the earlier marriage. Obama's mother decided she did not wish to go with him, and returned to her studies at the University of Hawaii. She graduated in four years while her parents helped care for her young son. In 1964, Ann filed for divorce from Obama Sr.

Like many Muslim men, Obama Sr. had multiple wives. It has been reported that Barack Jr. was distressed to learn that his six siblings, whom he met on a trip to Africa, had four different mothers. (Islam permits up to four wives at one time, and apparently polygamy is common in Africa.)

At the University of Hawaii, Ann met another international student, Lolo Soetoro, who proposed in 1967. Ann and young Barack followed him home to Indonesia. Daughter Maya was born in 1970. In 1971, when Barack was 10, Ann sent him back to Hawaii to live with her parents and attend an elite prep school on a scholarship arranged by Ann's mother, an executive at Bank of Hawaii. Obama lived with Ann's parents until he finished high school. Ann and Maya followed a year later. Ann once again enrolled in classes at the University of Hawaii. Although Lolo visited often, they never again lived together, and in 1980, Ann filed for divorce.

According to Ripley, Ann maintained a cordial relationship with her ex-husbands, staying in touch with both men. It is probably safe to say, however, that Barack Obama had very little actual influence from either man in his life. His father left before he was a year old, and he lived with his mother and her second husband in Indonesia for only four years, from age 6 to 10, before being shipped back to Hawaii for prep school.

This makes it even more remarkable that he has written a memoir titled, "Dreams From my Father." It has been reported that Ann read a draft of her son's book before her death in 1995. One has to wonder how disappointed she must have been to learn it was about a father who abandoned him as an infant, and not about the strong and pioneering women who raised him.

The book was first published in 1995, as he was campaigning for the Illinois Senate, and to capitalize on his new popularity, a new edition was published in 2004, after his keynote address to the Democratic National Convention.

Ann Dunham Obama Sutoro studied anthropology in Indonesia, and helped thousands of poor women find better lives for themselves and their families. She is credited with helping to create the microfinance program in Indonesia, "which she did from 1988 to '92 —- before the practice of granting tiny loans to credit-poor entrepreneurs was an established success story.

Her anthropological research into how real people worked helped inform the policies set by the Bank Rakyat Indonesia, says [her friend] Patten, an economist who worked there. 'I would say her work had a lot to do with the success of the program,' he sa

How can one figure out what to say upon hearing of the passing of someone like Michael Jackson? Even that statement doesn’t make any sense; there is, and never will be, anyone else like Michael Jackson.

There aren’t many celebrities who we can look to and come close to what Michael Jackson has meant to so many of us throughout our lives. The closest names we can think of are Brooke Shields and Sammy Davis, Jr. They make the list because they were in the public eye since they were children, Brooke with her first advertisements at the age of 10, and Sammy when he was performing with his father and bandmates from the age of 3. Neither one of them ever attained quite the significance of Michael Jackson, though.

For instance, Michael Jackson, in a weird way, aged in reverse, almost like Benjamin Button, the movie with Brad Pitt. As a child, he was already an adult beyond his years, helping the family make deals, being the leader of his singing group from the age of 5, and singing and dancing as though he was already a seasoned performer of years much further than he could have come close to.

Compare that to the Michael Jackson who took the world by storm with the Thriller album, the man-child who, now that he had unlimited wealth, determined not to be made to grow up. He built the ultimate child’s paradise in Neverland Ranch, and then invited children, as playmates, to come and play with him. Then, over the years, as he continued to age, he fought it by eventually having kids of his own, and playing games with them as though he were still the biggest kid in the room.

Beyond all of that, though, was the music, and the dancing. He touched our souls, first with his brothers. From the time America heard “I Want You Back”, then saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show, it was already determined that there was no comparison with family groups that had come before them, such as the Osmond Brothers or the Brothers Gibb. Indeed, this was something drastically different; these guys had a soul, and its front man was named Michael.

Who didn’t remember the soulful way this child-man sang love ballads with the emotion of someone who’d actually been through them? Songs like “I’ll Be There” and “Got To Be There” would have made you cry if you were allowed to cry as a young man; the girls indeed did cry. The ballads would be balanced with songs like “ABC” or “Dancing Machine”, where everyone I knew tried to figure out how he did that special robot dance that not even his brothers could emulate.

Then we moved on, and saw Michael Jackson and his brothers grow up, and grow out, leaving Motown and establishing themselves as an independent force with three group albums, one of which included the number one hit song helping to bring the 70’s to a close called “Shake Your Body Down To The Ground.” Who could have known that would be the last truly big song that the Jackson brothers would have as a group, and what was about to happen for their brother Michael?

What happened? Most people don’t know this, but the music industry was crashing down. Record sales weren’t doing all that well. We had all learned how to record music off the radio, and it didn’t matter that it wasn’t all that clear. MTV had come out, and we were starting to watch videos. But there was no black music on MTV except for one old video of Jimi Hendrix playing a song few people remembered, “Are You Experienced.” Then CBS Records, whom Michael Jackson had moved to as an independent musical force, gave an ultimatum to MTV; play Michael Jackson’s video or never get to play another video from a CBS Records artist.

That it had to come to that is shocking, especially in light of the fact that Michael’s second individual album (he’s had the album “Ben” released as a solo album back in the early 70’s) had gone to number one and produced four chart topping hits, including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough”. Sure, MTV had its worries; the first song released from the album, “The Girl Is Mine” with Paul McCartney, wasn’t quite the style of music MTV wanted to associate itself with, even if the song did go to number one.

If someone with his pedigree couldn’t get on MTV, what would it be worth? CBS was resting a lot of hopes on the back of Michael Jackson, and eventually bullied MTV into putting “Billie Jean” on its station.

To say it was an instant hit is insufficient. People loved the driving beat to the song, and saw a much different looking, grown up performer than what they were used to. Then they saw him perform on the Motown 25th Anniversary Show, and the rest is history. Thriller sold more albums than any other record in history, breaking so many records that will never be broken, and saving the record industry. Indeed, if one looks at the true golden age of music, it would be the period between when Michael Jackson released Thriller and when he released the Bad album. That was the period of the mega-album; without Thriller, Prince’s Purple Rain album, Bruce Springsteen’s Born In The USA album, and U2’s Joshua Tree may never have sold the number of albums that they did. Thriller was to the 80’s album what Saturday Night Fever by the Bee Gees was to the age of disco, and Peter Frampton’s album Frampton Comes Alive did for rock.

What was the difference? Michael Jackson didn’t only do music; he did dance. And he did it better than anyone else ever had except for Gene Kelly. The dance made the music a part of our lives, and extended the popularity of both Michael Jackson and his craft. And, what made it so special is that we got to see the evolution of the artist right before our eyes. Many of us grow up along with him, and that made him special to us. We could recall what was going on in our lives when his songs came out, and how they made us feel better.

And he kept coming back to us more and more often. We had Dangerous; we had HIStory. We had Invincible. We had the videos. We had “We Are The World.” We had more coming, and we were all looking forward to that, plus the upcoming concerts that he said were the last hurrah.

And then it was gone in an instant. No one saw it coming, that’s for sure. Two days after Ed McMahon, hours after Farrah Fawcett, and with the knowledge of how sick Walter Cronkite was, who could believe the breaking news alerts that Michael Jackson was being taken to the hospital after cardiac arrest? Who could believe the rumors that he was in a coma? Who could believe the rumors that he had passed away? And he had a cardiologist with him? Unthinkable.

Yet, it was true, and it shocked us. It made us take a look at our mortality. It made us feel bad. But we weren’t ready to feel bad. Instead, we wanted to feel good, because deep down inside, we know that he did all of this for us from the beginning. He didn’t seem, in person, like the happiest guy in the world over the last decade. With good reason, it seems, things we’re not going into. And yet, when all was said and done, all he cared about, other than his kids, was his fans. He wanted us to enjoy him, his music, his dancing, and all that he had to offer for us.

If you’re like me, after you got over the initial shock and had to pull yourself away from all the overwhelming news stories, you pulled out your Michael Jackson music, the solo stuff and the group stuff, the songs he did with others such as “We Are The World” and “State Of Shock” with Mick Jagger and “Scream” with his sister Janet, and we listened to those songs over and over. I listened for days; I’m still listening a week later.

As a younger person, I did that same thing. I’d buy the latest Jackson Five album, or the newest Michael Jackson album, on the day it was released and I’d play it over and over for weeks. Then, when everyone else caught up, I’d feel special because I already had it. I didn’t have to wait to see if I was going to like any of the songs first; I bought it because I knew he wasn’t going to let me down, that he was going to have songs I just had to have in my life.

To the end, he controlled my emotions. He helped make me happy. He helped make me reflect on different aspects of my life. He made me think about things such as racism and poverty and violence. He helped make me whole. And I wasn’t alone. He touched the world, the most famous entertainer in history, bigger than Elvis, possibly bigger than Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan and Princess Diana. In the first week after his passing, 9 of the top 10 albums on the Billboard charts were Michael Jackson related albums. That didn’t happen with Elvis passed away.

It’s hard to totally convey what Michael Jackson meant to my life and the lives of others in a few words; look how many words this has taken already, and there’s so much more that can be said. Michael Jackson was all about us. He sacrificed his life, his privacy, his happiness, so we could all feel better about our lives. It doesn’t get more selfless than that. R.I.P., Michael; we’ll miss you more than we’ll ever know.

Apple have continued along the lines of the Ipod, this time with the Iphone. This latest evolution of Apple technology works as a cellphone, music player, movie player and will even give you internet access. The Iphone really has given people a taste of the technology of the future, especially taken into account the software downloads.

Apple have recently decreed that they will not be allowing any third party organisations produce software for the Iphone. Instead they intend to create all software themselves, and the third party guys are going to be limited to the production of peripherals. Be that as it may, the Iphone software has already been compromised by enterprising hackers, and it’s now possible to buy software over the net which will allow the Iphone to be used on cell networks other than the ones intended by Apple. This is a mixed blessing for Iphone owners, as it does allow greater freedom with price plans etc, but Apple have already unequivocally stated that these adjustments will instantly invalidate the warranty on your Iphone.

Apple are expected to announce an update to the Iphone software over the next few month. It is thought that the main purpose of this update is to close the backdoor which the hackers have been using to unlock the firmware on these early versions. The other main feature of the update is expected to be compatibility with the Itunes software, enabling Iphone owners to download media directly from the internet, something that has been possible with other cellphones for some years now.

Apple have announced plans to continually update the Iphone software and interface, and to make these updated available regularly, as a free download over the internet. It’s thought that the main reason for these frequent updates is to keep the hackers out of the system, but in all likelihood it will only result in a similar situation to Sony’s PSP, with certain models being more sought after due to having hackable firmware. This has resulted in a game of back and forth between Sony and the hackers, and is probably the kind of scenario Apple will find themselves in over the coming months.

Cash For Clunkers Or (CARS) Buyers Must Beware

On Weds June 24th President Obama signed the much debated “Cash for Clunkers” bill which in summary allows a buyer to trade-in his/her old gas-guzzler for a new more fuel efficient ride and get up to $4,500 in a voucher toward the purchase price of this new vehicle. The program will now be known as Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS). There was opposition on all sides to this bill. The environmentalist felt the bill did not go far enough to improve fuel economy.

They pointed to the fact that one of the new vehicles that qualified was the Hummer 3. The automotive industry supporters feel that more that than the $1 billion that has been allocated is needed to jump start the car sales. This amount would allow approximately 250,000 consumers to participate in the program. Note, the original Cash for Clunkers bill had a $4 billion price tag. And of course, there are many who feel we have spent enough of the tax payers money to bail out the automotive industry. About $60 billion has been allocated so far, what is another billion.

OK, it is now time to move on and stop the “Why this program will not work and is a waste, etc”. This program can do some good. How many things have come of out Washington lately that will actually stimulate consumer spending? In all the bailout money what can we really point to that has helped we understand. The Cash for Clunkers program will stimulate car buying and has shown to do this in Europe, proving to be very successful. The American people can understand this program and will get factual results on how it is doing. American’s understand car sells numbers.

As a summary, the basic rules for Cash for Clunkers are:
• Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date.
• Generally, trade-in vehicles must get 18 or less MPG (some very large pick-up trucks and cargo vans have different requirements, that is trucks classified as non-passenger vehicles).
• Trade-in vehicles must be registered and insured continuously for the full year preceding the trade-in date. The dealer must monitor this closely.
• Trade-in vehicle must be drivable. I would say this might be up for interpretation.
• Owners who purchase a new passenger car that gets at least 4 mpg higher than their old “clunker” get a $3,500 voucher. If the mileage difference is more than 10 mpg, the consumer gets the full $4,500.
• Buyers of small trucks and SUVs need less of an improvement to get the same amounts. If the new vehicle gets at least 2 mpg more than the “clunker,” a $3,500 voucher is issued; for new trucks or SUV’s getting 5 mpg, the new car owner gets $4,500.
• Money can only go towards purchase or lease of new vehicles that qualify. Used cars need not ably.
• Qualifying lease means a lease of an automobile of not less than 5 years.
• The fuel efficient automobile must have a MSRP of $45,000 or less.
• You don’t need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase and will get their money from the government.
• Program to run from July 24 to November 1, 2009 or when the funds run out whichever is sooner.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is responsible for formulating the final rules and how to administrate the program with the dealers. They have 30 days to get this done and roll-out the program with the roll-out date being July 24, 2009

Buyers Beware!

Why do I make the statement buyer beware? Of course in every new program there are the scammers and opportunist who are just waiting to take advantage of the uninformed. There currently are websites offering to pre-register you for the CARS program and register you with local dealers. As a buyer you do not need to pre-register with anyone. I repeat do not pre-register, do not give out your personal information, especially your social security number.

The government is handling the program and will not be turning it over to any 3rd party. The CARS program will not request electronic submission of information from the individual consumer. When the program is finalized by the NHTSA dealers will then sign up with the NHTSA if they want to participate. $50 million of the $1 billion for this bill has been set aside to administer this 3 month program. Hopefully that is enough for the NHTSA to do a good job.

It will be interesting to see how honest the individual dealers will be with explaining how the program works. On the national level you know that GM, Ford, Chrysler etc will do a very good job of marketing this program. What I am talking about is when you walk onto the showroom floor. Remember, we are talking about car salesman here. A key point for the consumer to be aware of is that this rebate program is not to be taking the place of any current rebates the dealer may have.

The bill states ” requires the dealer to use the voucher in addition to any other rebate or discount advertised by the dealer or offered by the manufacturer for the new fuel efficient automobile and prohibit the dealer from using the voucher to offset any such other rebate of discount”. Also bear in mind that Cash for Clunkers has no impact on the cash-back and financing incentives that manufacturers offer; using the CARS credit won’t stop you from cashing in on those deals also. Also any other government rebates, such as for hybrids, can be used with the CARS program.

Be mindful that the dealer cannot charge you a specific fee for administering the CARS program when you purchase or lease. They can only charge their normal type of fees. Do not let a dealer charge you an extra $250 for CARS admin fee. You know some may try.

Be an educated consumer. Know the rules. Get your credit and loan lined up before you start your shopping. The CARS program can be a great opportunity for you.

The Cash for Clunkers Bill or as it is known by its official name the Car Allowance Rebate System and for short (CARS) is a $ 1 billion government program that helps the consumer buy or lease a more environmentally – friendly vehicle from a participating dealer when they trade in a less fuel efficient car or truck. The program is designed to energize the economy be boosting auto sales and to put safer, cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles on the road.

The public will be able to take advantage of this program and receive a $3,500 or $4,500 discount from the car dealer when they trade in their old gas hog and purchase or lease a new more fuel-efficient one.

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration have released the final eligibility requirements for the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS).

• Qualified consumers may participate in the CARS program between August 1, 2009 and November 1, 2009 or when authorized funds are no longer available.

• Qualified consumers will receive the $3,500 or $4,500 credit at the time they purchase their new vehicle.

• Dealers must provide consumers with any other advertised rebates or discounts in addition to the credit they receive through the CARS Program.

• The CARS Program will only be available at the local dealership and not on the internet.

• The dealership will be required to supply the buyer with the best estimate of the scrap value for their eligible trade-in vehicle. Dealers will be allowed to deduct $50 from this value for their administrative costs.

• Social Security numbers are not required for a CARS Program transaction
How the CARS Program Works:

Owners of cars getting no more than 18mpg are permitted for a $3,500 voucher toward the purchase of a new car getting at least 22mpg. If the new car gets 10mpg or better mileage than the trade-in clunker, then the owner will receive a $4,500 discount. That’s for cars.

For light-truck plat-formed vehicles – SUVs and pickups – plus minivans getting no more than 18mpg, the comparable new vehicle must get at least 2 MPG better mileage to collect the $3,500 voucher and 5 MPG better for the $4,500 voucher.

Dealers must ensure that the clunkers are crushed or shredded. Eligible trade-ins must be 1984 models or later. This eliminates cars the Antique Automobile Club of America defines as antique – 25 years of older.

Apple Estimates that around 20% of the iPhones that are being sold are being unlocked. Wich means breaking it free from network restrictions, so you can use any SIM card and any provider in your iPhone.
Benefits of unlocking are clear: You can make cheaper calls, use local SIMcards when you travel and your not bound to any contract to be able to use the iPhone.

Peter Smit told us that there are many unlocking solutions available onlina and offline. One solution is even better then the other when you beleive the marketing stories.
Fact is that 90% of the people who try to unlock their iPhone by themselves, have no idea what they are doing.

Angelina Jolie, partner to Brad Pitt, is the star of several blockbuster movies. Among them Girl Interrupted and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, coincidentally where she met Pitt. But perhaps her most well known portrayal was as the buxom Lara Croft, in the Tomb Raider films. During the shooting of the first movie, much of which was shot on location in Cambodia, Jolie came to witness the beautiful environment, immersive culture, and rampant poverty of the nation. This, she says, opened her eyes and was her stepping stone into humantiarian work.

After Cambodia, Anglina Jolie took a trip to Sierra Leone and Tanzania in 2001, and it was there that she first became actively involved in humanitarium causes. The purpose of that fateful trip was to discover first hand the conditions that refugees must suffer. Angelina was so shocked that shortly after, in August 2001, she was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, otherwise known as UNHCR.

The UNHCR assists over 20 million refugees in 120 countries around the world. They were created to protect and safeguard the well-being and rights of refugees. They believe that refugees have a right to seek asylum in another country and will actively seek to engage nations to integrate and support those refugees. Thus far, in only 5 decades, they have helped over 50 million people in the world.

Angelina’s contribution has greatly assisted in generating more widespread attention to this worthy cause. As a goodwill ambassador, her role is to communicate to, and provide a focus on refugees by generating mass-media attention. Though in Jolie’s case this is not merely superficial. She actually spends much of her own time and is genuinely affected by their misery. On her trip to Ecuador, Angelina Jolie wrote of the suffering, “People’s lives are truly in danger – not just in the sense that you feel your town is unsafe – their lives are actually being threatened and their houses are being burnt down.”

As well as the physical effort that Angelina Jolie contributes, her foundation with partner Brad Pitt, called the Jolie-Pitt Foundation recently donated USD$1 million to groups working in Darfur. Darfur is a region in war ravaged Sudan, which Jolie has visited three times already.

Still, having the news coverage about Michael Jackson on every single station for over a week and overshadowing our nation’s birthday; The Fourth Of July is a bit unnerving. It is quite obvious, that his family and close friends do not want the media coverage, and yet, the news media understands that the people want to talk about it and want to learn all about his death. Since the news of his death, it seems everybody is buying Michael Jackson merchandise as fast as the sellers can get it out! What are they buying and is it worth anything? The value of this type of memorabilia is not generally established with a cut and dry formula. It is determined by the collector and how the circumstances of the time at hand affect his decision to buy, and why.

Most of the Michael Jackson collector items are bought from avid fans and it holds much more sentimental value than monetary investment value. And that is a good thing! Collecting is rarely done for profit alone. It’s a hobby and supposed to be fun. Is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince More Interesting Than the Prequels?

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the newest heartthrob of the era, has been by far the most anticipating and alluring fiction novel in the market. Taking the main theme from adventurous to a more depicted- sided, J.K Rowling has increased the worth of her Legend and has gathered a large fan- following.

The main features of the fiction novels are its illusions and fascinations, which attract the readers entirely and make up a new world of fantasy and glamour. Likewise, all the books of Harry Potter series have been fancied up with newest adventures and twists that tangle up the reader in its own mysterious craze.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the penultimate of the series, has, however, proved to be more interesting and entertaining than the previous books as it contains the creativity of the author at the apex with lesser adventures and more unravelling of the previously laid questions and mysteries.

Among the newest features of the book, which have made it more appealing is the depiction of Inferi. These are the creatures from the Rowling’s personal creative mind. They have been described as being the corpses of dead people under the control of the Dark Wizard. These corpses are neither living nor dead but somewhere in between the both, where they only respond to the order of the controlling wizard and are unable to think for themselves or even about their duties and tasks.

These corpses remain in their idle state until time comes for them to do their task or after they have been defeated or their task is done. These Inferi are the main issue in the penultimate book as they can be made into a large army to implement the satanic intentions of the Dark Wizards.

Much of the interest has been captured by these illusions and fascinations, which were otherwise unthinkable and whom Rowling made up a mere reality in this fiction series. In the former part of the account, a special type of agreement has also been introduced, the Unbreakable Vow.

It is carried out between two wizards or witches in the presence of the witnesses. This vow is not exactly unbreakable, but if one tries to go back to his/her word, they would die instantly. This makes it a rather irreversible responsibility, which has to be fulfilled if one does not want to die. This has made the entire plot of Rowling quite alluring and anticipative as due to this, one of the main characters, Albus Dumbledore, is killed in the latter part of the account.

Likewise, the concept of immortality was never depicted in the prequels until the sixth book. This creation has made the book even more interesting for the readers. Lord Voldemort has made himself seven Horcruxes, among which, he has divided up his soul to gain immortality and would not die until all of them are destroyed first. The discovery of Horcruxes has enhanced the creative worth of the Legend to captivate its reader’s souls entirely. It has driven the interest of the fans to their apex and has excessively adrenalised them in order to prepare them for the roller coaster ride among the fascinating discoveries and inventions of the modern fiction world of J.K Rowling.

Previous Harry Potter movies have broken many records in sales and marketing. Makers of the movies earned million of dollars through its marketing. After a bit of lull, the marketing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is back with a huge splash! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the sixth part of the Harry Potter series, which would now soon be beating the theatres worldwide.

It is a much awaited movie, and now with only a few days left before its release, its marketing has increased more. Since the release of the movie has delayed from November 2008 to July 2009, its sale is expected to be even more, as the fans are now desperate to get hold on the movie. Different marketing strategies have been used for the promotion of this upcoming film. A video game sound track has too been released for the movie.

The EA games have created a game that would be releasing soon. It’s a new adventure for the students of Hogwarts. Due to the delay in its release, Half Blood Prince had an advantage of getting extra time for such games to launch and help its promotion. Players will get to experience every form of magic from the books and films in this video game. As they proceed, gamers would have to take lessons to learn Harry’s skills. Therefore, this game has also spiced up the thrill for the movie.

On 10 April, an English version of the upcoming New Harry Potter

The movie's first clip was released through The Ellen DeGeneres Show's official website on 20th may, showing love-struck Ron. Another clip of the film was released on 31 May 2009 at MTV Awards, which showed Dumbledore visiting Tom Riddle's Orphanage. Also recently, a short clip featuring the Weasley twins' shop Wizard Weases was released on 22 June. Teaser trailers have also been released time after time to whet the appetite of the fans.

The release of the posters of the cast of Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince has also been an important step in the marketing campaign of the forthcoming film. On March 27, six character posters were released including Harry, Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione, Draco, and Professor Snape.

These posters from the movie gave its fans a push of excitement and anticipation of watching these people soon in the movie. Another set of the character posters has been released a couple of weeks back in the middle of this marketing campaign run. However, these posters have not been a great breakthrough. However, the Draco Malfoy and Luna Lovegood posters are quite likeable.

Other than these, t-shirts, book covers, stationary, balls, mugs, shopping bags etc have been made with pictures of Harry and others for the promotion. The marketing department has really peaked the thrill, excitement and anticipation of the people for the soon-to-be-out film using different strategies. Their efforts turn out to be fruitful or futile will soon be known at the release of the Half Blood Prince.

The Solution for Unemployment in America is just down the street, right past the school, down by City Hall. In fact, this solution remains intertwined in a large part of any town, city, or large urban area.

Yet none of our Political Leaders promotes using this Mega Employment Power Source. However, it is surfacing with a few elected servants who have set aside their political mantra to think and speak independently. Maybe more will listen. As a nation, we are willing to toss 800 Billion dollars into a hole that most approving the bill never took time to read, “Just did not have time.”

We lament the high unemployment rate and number of Americans without jobs. Somehow, these two events do not appear as companions yet they should. The resource to fund eliminating our unemployment is available in the moulding Stimulus Bill account.

For those who are sports fans imagine for a moment you are in a baseball game standing in the batter’s box. Two outs, two on base, behind by one run, you let two pitches go by to size up the pitcher. First, he throws a fastball, followed by another fastball; stats tell you this pitcher normally throws 55% fastball, 30% sliders, and 15% slow off speed curves balls.

The pitcher toes the rubber, gets into his stretch, and releases the pitch as the synapse in your brain starts firing computing all the above data in an instant. You know you will see the curve break before a slider but then again it might be a fastball, which is it, which one?

You face two overall results, one is get a hit to tie the game or go ahead, the other extreme is a strike out or hit into an out. This is the best and worst of the fates you face.
You knew this when you stepped into the box. Now that picture of fate is gone. If you watch the nightly news, the numbers are staggering: another two thousand people laid off in my state, and unemployment rates are soaring. Jobs no one wanted before-McDonalds, movie theater ticket puncher, and water park worker-are suddenly in demand. Teenagers looking for summer jobs are being forced to mow lawns and wash windows, or they’re just playing video games instead. As for those who find themselves laid off and unemployed? They have two choices: join the retrace fighting for another job, or apply for government assistance.

One type of government assistance is Unemployment benefits. Government workers have seen a dramatic increase in Unemployment applications in the last few months. Unemployment benefits can help support an individual and/or family while they look for another job, which in this market can be awhile. But the benefits also end at some point, so it is only a temporary solution. And those applying for Unemployment benefits must sign a waiver saying that they are willing and able to work. This disqualifies them from receiving Social Security disability or SSI benefits, which are reserved for those who are perhaps willing, but unable to work.

Social Security disability applications have also increased dramatically in the last few months, perhaps as much as 20-30% since last year-confirming that it is a difficult market right now. Social Security disability benefits, unlike Unemployment, are continual benefits that usually do not decrease over time. The amount received varies according to the disability, the person’s age, any other income earned or received, the type of benefits requested, and number of dependents.

While Social Security disability or SSI is a great option for those who find it difficult to work, it does have its drawbacks. The rules, or listings, for one to be found disabled are very specific and sometimes difficult to prove. Also, with 20-30% more disability applicants in an already flooded system, it is a long wait. It is common for a disabled American to be denied up to three times over a period of 2-3 years before finally being approved for disability or SSI. For this reason alone, many of the disabled are hiring disability attorneys to push their disability or SSI claims through the system for them.

If you have a disability that prevents you from working, Social Security disability may be your best option-but apply quickly, because you’re in for a wait. Now this leads to another country that has the same unemployment rate of 0.00% by the name of Monaco. Many of us have heard of this country that has a population of 33,000. Economic development was spurred in the late 19th century with a railroad linkup to France and the opening of a casino. Since then, the principality’s mild climate, splendid scenery, and gambling facilities have made Monaco world famous as a tourist and recreation center.

Much larger countries with mid range unemployment rates:
As the dominant industrial and maritime power of the 19th century, the United Kingdom (UK) played a leading role in developing parliamentary democracy and in advancing literature and science. The British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth’s surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK’s strength seriously depleted in two World Wars and the Irish republic withdraw from the union. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation. As one of five permanent members of the UN Security Council the UK pursues a global approach to foreign policy. The UK is currently weighing the degree of its integration with continental Europe. Another country with a 40.0% unemployment rate and a population of 31 million is Afghanistan. The world hasn’t been the same since the untimely death of Michael Jackson last week. It is still almost surreal and fans from across the globe are grieving over the loss of one of the greatest pop icons of our time.

MJ was known for his theatrical performances and his killer dance moves. Therefore, it was only appropriate that MJ’s memorial was filled with star studded tribute performances, touching words from his family, and support from fans across the world.

The memorial was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles with a packed audience of 17,500; not to mention the thousands of fans that waited outside the arena and an estimated several hundred million viewers from across the globe.

Several performances were held in his honor from Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, John Mayer, and Usher. Sources say Mariah Carey’s performance wasn’t up to her usual standards due to her sentiments at the moment. Nevertheless, the tributes were orchestrated beautifully with Usher’s rendition arguably the most touching. He sang one of MJ’s songs, “Gone to Soon”, which MJ had written in the early 90’s when one of his friends had passed away from HIV.

With all the stars in attendance, performers, and guest speakers, the moment of the memorial which probably brought the world to tears simultaneously was when MJ’s daughter Paris asked for the microphone. She went on to say, “I just wanted to say… ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine… and I just wanted to say I love him so much.”

President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii to Barack Obama Sr. and Ann Dunham. Obama Sr., a Muslim, was an exchange student from Kenya and his mother was from Kansas. Barack Obama’s father abandoned his family soon after he was born and he was brought up by his mother.

Ann Dunham started to date Lolo Sobero, another Muslim and soon married him and moved to Indonesia. Obama went to a Muslim school in Indonesia. Throughout this time, Obama kept in touch with his father Barack Obama Sr. who was now living in Kenya. They exchanged a number of letters and these became the subject for Obama’s book, Dreams from my father.

Later on in life, he moved back to the United States to live with his maternal grandparents. He was particular close to his grandmother who took out a number of loans in order to finance Barack Obama’s education. She died 2 days before he was elected the President of the United States.

Obama attended Columbia University and then Harvard, where he received his law degree. There, he excelled in academics and sports. After he graduated, he joined a civil rights law firm where he met his future wife Michelle Obama, who was also a lawyer there and mentored him.

After they got married, Barack and Michelle Obama had two daughters, Sasha and Malia. They grew up in Chicago where Barack Obama was a community organizer.

In 2004, Obama won the senate seat from Illinois. He was only the fifth African American to do so. In that time, he became exceedingly popular within the Democratic Party.

In 2007, he entered the presidential race and contested the primaries against contenders like Hillary Clinton and his future vice president Joe Biden. In 2008, he was elected the first African-American president of the United States.

Who Was Nikola Tesla?

Nikola Tesla was born on July 9, 1856, in a very small village called Smiljan, in the province of Lika, Croatia. You may not know who this man is, but he invented the theories of electricity we use today.

Tesla finished his basic schooling in Croatia. He continued his education in the Polytechnic School in Graz and finished at University of Prague. He worked as an Electrical engineer in Germany, Hungary and France before coming to the United States in 1884 as an immigrant. When Tesla arrived in New York, he quickly obtained a job with Thomas Edison. Tesla worked for Edison for many years until finally there differences in methods separated the two men in 1885. There two main differences were that Edison believed that DC (Direct Current) was the power of the future. Tesla had been working on the AC (Alternating Current) power we have today. After the Tesla left Edison’s lab, George Westinghouse, founder of the Westinghouse Electric Company, bought patent rights to Tesla’s system of alternating-current.

There were many advantages to Tesla’s alternating current vs. Edison’s direct current. The advantages became prevalent when Westinghouse used Tesla’s Alternating current to light the World Columbian Exposition at Chicago in 1893. It was after this that people started to realize this type of electricity’s amazing abilities.

Tesla established a laboratory in New York City in 1887. His electrical experiments ranged from an exploration of electrical resonance and many studies of various lighting systems. In order to calm the public about the safety of Tesla’s power system, he would hold exhibitions of his power in his laboratory. He would light a light bulb without wires allowing the electricity to flow through his body in a spectacular flurry of lighting and sparks.

Tesla became a United States citizen in 1891. His creative powers were at its peak. He worked on and developed many things including the induction motor, new types of generators and transformers. He also developed a system that transmitted his AC current. There are so many things that you use today that Tesla created. It is little know but the lamp we use to conserve energy, the fluorescent light was also one of his inventions. Tesla had many interests in electrical power. Tesla best known for his method of a wireless power transmission. The Tesla Coil. He envisioned that he would transmit power straight through the air to the user for free. Amazing and truly a ground breaking idea. He started construction on a wireless power transmission tower in 1900. The project was abandoned due to his lack of financial support. Tesla soon turned his genius to other inventions, such as power generating turbines. He continued to have many problems with his financial support and many of his ideas were shelved.

Nikola Tesla is one of my favorite inventors. He had electricity flowing through his blood. The man invented so many things we take for granted today and received very little credit. He was well ahead of his time. We may thing that Edison was a great inventor and he was, but Edison and many others took Tesla’s ideas and exploited them to the things we have today for there own profit and took the credit themselves. We know now know this man was exploited and was not given credit where credit is due. Many Electrical Engineers still study Tesla’s notes in order to find an idea that can be exploited and elaborated today.

Tesla is most credited with His Tesla Coil. This coil will deliver power through the air with a great deal of voltage, like a lighting bolt. The wireless age is upon us, is Wireless power next?

It is not my purpose to claim to know all the wonders of the life of this great man who is acknowledged as one of the great inventors of all time. Those who give him that kind of acknowledgement on TV or elsewhere are not telling the whole story. There are secret projects underway that he was involved with. HAARP is just one example; it is an extension of his radio antennae that he spent a fortune trying to develop. These technologies are potentially able to destroy all life on earth; as they are kept by war-mongers and those who might leave earth for a while and then return to take over and start anew. Or maybe it will simply be a case of successful social engineering as the mind control uses get ramped out on space platforms to accentuate the ground carrier thought cloning already done by the likes of Michael Persinger. There was a time when Tesla was hood-winked by the power elite and despite him being a good person he was not politically as wise as we all must become if things are to really change.

You will hear him describe how he developed his own ESP and Dimensional travel long before he was in New York when another mystery man named Aleister Crowley was opening a portal in the Amalantrah working that some say led to the Babalon working done by Jack Parsons (Jet Propulsion Lab’s alchemist founding member) and L. Ron Hubbard. These things are also integrated with worm-holes and even more fantastic things but Tesla did not know his father had initiated him into the Orphic or Pythagorean Harmonic octaves very early in his life. I will also have to consider some of the things Tesla said which relate to aliens and other things deemed weird that even he may not have fully understood. Thus I will be taking a speculative journey and you are totally correct to speculate that I am wrong: just as I say Seen Casteel goes too far in saying a secret fraternal order got scientists who knew anti-gravity and went to Mars in the period when Tesla was born. Tesla gave up his man as a machine ideas and moved towards the great Yogi Vivekananda in later life and I agree with him that this Yogi’s thoughts are scientific.

HAARP is a furtherance of Tesla’s training that included the Lost Chord and direct cognition of the Druids through one of three different sources I can align with he and Von Neumann (all three may apply). There are people who have used lesser technology including Hitler and the tepaphone that the Borgia/De Medici/Rothschilds used to ‘remotely poison’ (Kill) people.

You might want to look up Frequency Fence, Persinger, and Bearden (cheniere.org) as well. Bearden says they will have to develop a better pulse weapon than they have said they are working with to make SDI work – and Tesla had that too. You will have to look many things up as you proceed through this book. I will give summaries or my thoughts but all knowledge relating to the subject of Tesla can not possibly be contained in one book.

The idea of thought coming from Spirit is a little general and not something I agree with unless he means REAL thought rather than regurgitated thought. Deepak Chopra is a great and wonderful human being who escaped the material competitive focused world and the ‘expertise’ that was his, as a doctor. However we have shown that science is getting dangerously close to finding templates or forms that mirror this kind of philosophy and it can be machine replicated. The church felt science was philosophy and that all things came from this kind of godhead in the ‘Dark Ages’; and scientists have justifiably thought any mention of a bridge to religion is fraught with these kinds of intellectual authoritarian terrors. Perhaps now we can re-evaluate our belief in godly forces and not involve religious or priestly interpreters who ask us to ‘follow’ like sheep. To replace one set of interpreters with another form of ‘expertise’ is not good. Surely there is a balance that harmonizes with purpose and true knowingness. I like the thought expressed by James Watson in his foreword to Discovering the Brain. He said, ‘The brain boggles the mind.’. It is also true that a lot of the ‘boggling’ has been done by those saying they seek God.

Michael Jackson and His Impact on Pop Music

Before his death, he was planning to have concerts starting early this summer. One million tickets were purchased in the first few hours of the sale even if he was away from his fans for almost two decades.

This is an indication that Jackson has a lot young fans and they still enjoy his music. It was unclear how he was able to keep all his fans especially that he had a disturbing and strange life style.

Releasing “Thriller” album in 1982 was a huge success and more fans around the world looked at him as the king of Pop. This album is considered as one of the best selling albums. A lot of fun songs coupled with well done videos contributed to the success of the album. Without the videos, the song would not have had the same effect on his fans. “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” were very remarkable songs at that time. The songs were loved by everybody and his military fashion style was also strange and attractive. His fans were chilled by his clear voice.

In the “Thriller” video, his dancing moves were very smooth and this was a trigger for the music video success.
The video and the album were masterpieces.
People enjoyed his music and Thriller album opened the door for Michael Jackson commercial success. Since he was a young singer, he appealed to his fans with his lovely voice, his charm and his dance style.

He had a great impact on the pop music and he can be considered as one of the most influential pop singers of our century.

As Mariah Carey began to croon a heart felt rendition of Michael Jackson’s “I’ll be There” I felt a twinge and finally a tear, twelve days following the death of the inescapable icon. I immediately recalled the final show of the first season of “Karaoke Krazy” when my co-host and I sang that song as the final number.

I remember why I chose that song over all others. It was because, as an entertainer, I felt there was no other choice. There are many reasons for this. I began singing when I was two and by the time I was able to see and comprehend television the Jackson Five was beginning to make history. I remember my mother telling me “Michael will be on in half an hour. You better get your bath so you can watch him before you go to bed.” And so began my fascination with the most amazing talent that this earth has ever seen, and may ever will see.
As Michael grew, I grew with him. Watching, imitating, learning. Over the years I took ballet and tap lessons, voice lessons, piano, guitar and drum lessons. I made it to the Cincinnati Bearkittens dance team and eventually in 1985 began my own dance group with my best friend Brenda. But before that happened, my goal in college as an educator was to help inner city children rise up out of their destined poverty through art and music. As a student teacher, my lessons revolved around putting art to the music of Michael Jackson. And the children responded. But teaching took a back seat to the entertainment business for me because when its in your blood, in your bones, you can never really escape it, and because I eventually realized you really have to be Michael Jackson to change the thoughts and minds of a culture or cultures.

Michael Jackson’s concert was the first I ever attended. His posters were on my wall. I remember waiting and waiting for the Billy Jean and Thriller video’s that were to make history on the notoriously white oriented MTV. Every dance move Brenda and I choreographed had its roots in Michael’s feet. Eventually, I acquired a manager and promoter who make me continually study Michael Jackson’s moves. And even at 47, I still find myself moonwalking from time to time. I eventually cut a record and toured the country for a few years, finally landing a local TV show where I performed his songs more than once.

It would be impossible for me to give a blogged lesson in videography, the art of illusion and evoking emotion, the technical aspects of music, the complexities of dance and choreography, or the rules of working a crowd —-which need seeds of talent to make one a good entertainer. All I can tell you is that there was always more to my fascination with Michael than hero worship. It has been a true respect for the artist who shaped the world not only as an entertainer, but as an ambassador of peace by not ever really saying a word, but by singing them.

As Stevie Wonder sings a song he wrote on the stage that is memorializing the child star, I take note that Wonder is probably the most musically talented individual the world has ever known. His tribute only confirms that Michael was indeed the most talented “artist” in that he incorporated so many different abilities into his body of work.

As a humanitarian, Michael gave more to charity than any other artist in the world. There are those who say that Michael was not a great person. But as a journalist who has been heavily involved with the media, I must say that I do not give much credence to the wrongs we have heard of. While obtaining a Bachelors in Communications, one of the things we learned repeatedly was the art of “spin.” It’s how we make a story interesting and make someone tune in to a story. Only Michael Jackson, and God, know what his life was really like.

I never saw Michael Jackson as “Black or White,” and I admit that I still have my opinions regarding both sides of the equation. Say what you will about me for my admiration for the King of Pop. But he is what gave my life’s work its successes. He is what made me understand the problems with poverty and disparity. And if you think about it, let’s be honest, wouldn’t it be nice to see EVERYONE try to better themselves by reaching for goals and being productive?

Try to understand the enormous responsibility that comes with such enormous fame and forgive the mistakes that even the smallest of us make. Remember the boy that sacrificed a childhood to bring the world together and make it a better place for everyone…”We are the World.” Remember to dream, as Michael did. Remember the face of his distraught daughter at the memorial who said, “I love you daddy, you were the best daddy in the world. I am going to miss you so much.” And remember to say to a friend, “I’ll be there,” for the man we all grew up with is gone…and it could happen you.

Thank you Michael Jackson. Your legacy continues. “Just Smile.”

Those who really like adventure sports or aircraft can choose from a wide array of moving images and clips of death-defying stunts. Screensavers can also be slide shows that have various pictures of movie celebrities, sportspersons and politicians.

However, some precautions need to be taken before downloading Screensaversspyware and adware. When you use computers and the Internet in your business, it’s all too easy to start feeling like you’re drowning in a sea of nonsense. Computer-related things tend to have a language all their own, and while you don’t need to know all of it, there are many confusing words and phrases that you’re going to come across sooner or later. Here’s a quick primer.

Bandwidth. Bandwidth is the amount of data that your website can send each second, as well as the amount of data that the visitor to your website can receive. If either one doesn’t have enough bandwidth, then the website will appear slowly. For this reason, you should choose a host with plenty of bandwidth, as well as testing that your site doesn’t take too long to download on slow connections.

Browser. A browser is the software (see below) that visitors to your site use to view it. The most popular browser is Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, which comes with Windows.

Cookie. Cookies are data files that your site can save on the computer of someone who visits that site, to allow it to remember who they are if they return. You will find that problems people have in ordering from you will almost inevitably be related to cookies — they will need to have them turned on.

Download. Transferring data from a website to a computer.

Favourite. A favourite is a website that a user has stored to look at again, by choosing ‘Add to Favourites’ in their browser’s menu.

FTP. File Transfer Protocol. This is a common method of uploading (see below) files to your website.

Javascript. A common language for writing ’scripts’ on websites, which are small programs that make the site more interactive. Another common cause of problems for visitors.

JPEG. Joint Photographic Experts Group. This is the name of the most popular format for pictures on the web, named after the group that came up with it. If you want to put pictures on your website, you should save them as JPEGs.

Hardware. Hardware is computer equipment that physically exists. It is the opposite of software.

Hosting. If you’ve got a website out there on the Internet, then you’ll be paying someone for hosting. It is the service of making your site available for people to see.

HTML. HyperText Markup Language. A kind of code used to indicate how web pages should be displayed, using a system of small ‘tags’. The ‘b’ tag, for example, causes text to appear in bold, and the ‘img’ tag displays a picture.

Hyperlink. A hyperlink is when a piece of text on a website can be clicked to take you to another site, or another page on the same site. For example, if clicking your email address on your website allows someone to email you, then your email address is a hyperlink.

Programming. This is when the computer is given instructions to tell it what to do, using one of many ‘programming languages’. Programming languages for the web include PHP and Perl.

Server. The server is where your website is stored, and it is the server that people are connecting to when they visit the site. If someone tells you, for example, that your server is ‘down’, it means that your website is inaccessible. Note that server refers both to the hardware and software of this system.

Software. Programs that run on the computer, or that make your website work. Microsoft Word is software, for example, as is Apache (the most popular web server software). Opposite of hardware.

Spider. Don’t be scared if a spider visits your website! Spiders are simply programs used by search engines to scan your site and help them decide where it should appear when people search. It is good to be visited by spiders, as it means you should start appearing in search engines soon.

Upload. Uploading is when you transfer data from your own computer to your website. For example, you might upload your logo, or an article you’ve written. Opposite of download.

URL. Uniform Resource Locator. This is just a short way of saying ‘web address’, meaning what you have to type in to get to your website. Sometimes pronounced as ‘Earl’.
